EAI is a multi-disciplinary environmental consulting firm offering professional services focusing on species and ecosystem management, monitoring, and research.

About us

EAI was founded in 1994 by Bob Ernest and Erik Martin. Headquartered in Jensen Beach, Florida, EAI developed solid relationships with local governments, businesses, and the community. Stan DeForest took over as CEO in 2015 and helped launch tremendous growth which allowed EAI to service a much wider territory. We are now not only a leader in environmental consulting on the Treasure Coast, but statewide. We are honored to have had Stan’s guidance and ingenuity.

EAI scientists and associates have extensive experience providing environmental monitoring, permitting and consultation services.

Environmental assessments

EAI’s scientists conduct a variety of habitat assessments in both wetland and upland environments

Ichthyoplankton And Meroplankton Taxonomy

Plankton samples are collected by EAI field staff or shipped by clients to EAI’s lab from distant locations

Water quality monitoring

A full range of laboratory testing for nutrients, BOD, metals, hydrocarbons, and priority pollutants is available through our independent, certified laboratories.

Environmental Resource Permitting

EAI has decades of combined experience in assisting property owners to minimize impacts to protected resources during the permitting process. Our scientists are equally qualified and experienced in permit compliance and mitigation project planning and implementation.

Sea turtle monitoring & Conservation

EAI staff are authorized to conduct activities under Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWCC) Marine Turtle Permits (TP #010, #160,#162, and #261) issued to EAI senior staff.

Sediment analysis

EAI has extensive experience analyzing sediment samples in support of dredging, beach nourishment and other coastal construction projects.
